Writing Headlines That Get You More Sales For Less Ad Spend

Ever whisper to someone when they’re blasting their headphones?

No? Of course not.

Why?

Because it’s a ridiculous way to get attention.

Most headlines I see are just like this—static, ignored, monochrome.

Let's fix that. In this article, I’ll give you 3 tricks that’ll make your headlines so seductive people can’t help but click.

Tip #1: Test, Test, Test

Imagine launching a product without testing it. Not a good idea is it? So why write just one headline and call it a day?

Start by writing at least five different headlines. You’d be surprised at the difference even a single word can make. When you have a handful, test them.

Let the numbers do the talking: check your engagements to see which ones resonate. This will help you spot patterns in what drives clicks and what falls flat.

Tip #2: Use Numbers and Specifics

Imagine you’re scrolling through two headlines:

  1. “How I Made Money by Choosing X Instead of Y”

  2. “How Choosing X Instead of Y Made Me $3,452,928 in 18 Months”

Which one do you click?

If you said #2, you’re not alone. Specific numbers—dollar amounts, timeframes—build credibility and catch attention. They tell your readers, “This is real,” which builds trust before they even read the rest of your stuff.

Tip #3: Add Action-Packed Words

Nothing says “boring” like a headline that doesn’t invite action. Spice it up with words that promise value: “tips,” “secrets,” “hacks,” and “tricks” are the type of language that keeps your audience on the edge of their seat.

“6 Game-Changing Strategies” sounds a lot better than “6 Strategies,” right?

Quick note: Be sure your content lives up to the hype. If you say “game-changing,” deliver game-changing. Promise results? Show the results. Otherwise, you risk losing reader trust.

The Best Part About Using These Tricks

The next time you write a headline, remember: it’s the first impression of your content. Make it count, and make it click-worthy.

Implement these tricks, test relentlessly, and soon, your headlines won’t just get more clicks—they’ll get more buys.
